Who am I

MY NAME IS DAVID LEIGHTON AND I HAVE LIVED IN KESWICK IN THE ENGLISH LAKE DISTRICT FOR OVER 25 YEARS.

I discovered my love of photography as a teenager. At school we had a dark room and would process and print our own black and white photographs. This progressed on and I had my own dark room. Later still I moved on to shooting slides and for a while processed my own slide film.

As the family were growing up, time was more limited and photography got pushed to one side a little. With the advent of digital photography I rediscovered my love of photography which linked in well with my enjoyment in using and my ability on the computer. Then in 2016 I felt I could afford a full frame camera and purchased the newly launched Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. I have been getting more and more serious as time has gone on. My passion is in trying to show the world as it is, be that the natural world (landscapes) or the man made world (travel photography).

I had the opportunity to go on a framing course. I felt that it would be useful to be able to frame my own photographs. Now having done the course I realise this is something that I have a skill in. I thus felt it was time to go to the next level and start selling my photographs and offering a framing service to other photographers or indeed anyone who had something they wanted framing.
